The new airline Air Serbia (restructured Jat Airways) made an inaugural flight from Belgrade to Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
The first airbus A319, painted in the colors of the Serbian national air carrier (red, blue and white), was named Novak Djokovic - the second racket of the world in the current tennis rating. The plane took off on October 26 from Belgrade International Airport and landed the same evening in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The first direction was chosen not casually: airline Etihad Airways owns 49% of actions of the Serbian partner.
Until the end of this year, the former route network Jat Airways will add Bucharest, Ljubljana and Prague. In total, by the beginning of the summer season of 2014, Air Serbia will serve 43 destinations in 30 countries, including Moscow.
