San Miguel Entertainment and Attractions
The most impressive part of the architectural ensemble of San Miguel - this is the oldest church on the whole island Esglesia de Sant Miquel. Initially, it was created in the 14th century as an observation tower on a hill. Later it was reconstructed and strengthened, and in the 19th century the interior was updated: the walls inside were painted with frescoes, and the walls were covered with masonry from the outside. Today, this church is the main attraction for thousands of tourists on their way to the huge hotel complexes.
From the mountain of Pichs-de-Missa, a magical view of the whole island opens, especially on the dense pine forests of the central areas of Ibiza. Here comes the realization of how empty that stereotypical image that has developed about Ibiza. Away from the "party" San Antonio or the city of Ibiza, the true face of the island opens - impressive rural landscapes and harmony between heaven, sea and earth.
- See for yourself that Ibiza - it's not only noisy discos and crowds of holidaymakers
- Meet the dawn to the beat of the drums on the Benarras beach
- Wander through the caves where the smugglers once were hiding.
- Climb the mountain and freeze with excitement, feeling freedom and unity with nature.
San Miguel is also notable for its stalactites and stalagmite caves of Can Marca. For the entrance take about 8 EUR. For this sum, a tour is organized for 30-40 minutes, accompanied by a guide. Once these caves were opened by smugglers, and during the Spanish Civil War they were used by arms dealers. Today, caves have been "ennobled" by organizing lighting and paths for them to move tourists in.
In the village, despite its modest size, there are small bars and restaurants. Especially popular is the C'an Rei, a traditional tapas restaurant, and Es Bosc is a small establishment on the road to Santa Hertrudi with a shady garden where snacks are served from fresh meat and fish.
