Atakule is a communication and observation tower 125 meters high, located in the center of Ankara (in the Kankai area). This is one of the most recognizable symbols of the city and the most noticeable detail of its panorama. The tower stands on a hill and on a clear day is visible from everywhere in the city. Its construction was started in 1987 and completed in 1989
If you translate the name verbatim, "Atakule" means "father's tower", but in this case, like many others in Turkey, "father" means Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the first president of the Republic
In the upper section there is an open terrace and panoramic revolving restaurant Sevilla

Visitors of the restaurant should not worry for his digestion: to make a complete revolution, the restaurant takes an hour. Over Sevilla there is another restaurant, Dome. It does not rotate, but is located directly under the dome of the tower. And under the terrace is a cafe called UFO
At the base of the tower there were several more restaurants, indoor and outdoor, and a shopping center, but the latter began to rapidly lose popularity against the background of more modern ones and was soon determined to be demolished
