A ghost town in Turkey, abandoned about 100 years ago, after the First World War, can get a new life and turn into a tourist center.
The government of Turkey expects to make money on an abandoned village, located opposite the Taurus mountains, putting it up for auction. The country's authorities plan to rent a ghost town for 49 years.
The ruins of the 18th century. are part of an archaeological site that is under protection. In recent years, this area attracts more and more tourists. The ghost town has hundreds of destroyed houses and two stone churches.
Restoration project, which will be won by the auction investor, includes the construction of a hotel and the development of infrastructure for tourists. The cost of the project is estimated at about 10 million EUR.
