Do you have a rest in Dubai with your children? As in any major city in the world, there is a zoo here. And Dubai is also a great place for the pastime of not only small tourists, but also their parents. Moreover, in its shady avenues you can escape from the heat.
The Dubai Zoo is considered the oldest not only in the United Arab Emirates, but also throughout the Arabian Peninsula. It was built by businessmen in 1967, and in 1971 was transferred to the jurisdiction of the authorities of Dubai. In 2012, the construction of Dubai Safari in the Al Wark area began. The area of new habitat for animals from the Dubai Zoo will be 450 hectares.
What to see
The alleys of the Dubai Zoo are not planted with palm trees, as one might have thought, when traveling to the Emirates.
In the Dubai zoo is very comfortable: if you are tired of walking - you can sit down on one of the numerous benches and continue to watch the animals. Interestingly, in the zoo in Dubai, there is no specific system in the arrangement of cages. Next to the lion cage, you can see a chimpanzee. Here ostriches, they are so used to another lion, which lives literally a few meters away, that they do not even hide their heads in the sand.
In the Dubai Zoo on a fairly small area of two hectares are located 230 species of animals and nearly 400 species of reptiles, some of them are listed in the Red Book. There are also Bengal tigers, African lions, chimpanzees, and even an Arab wolf. True, the wolf rarely attracts tourists from Russia, because it is strikingly similar to our mongrel.
Only in the zoo you can see the inhabitants of the deserts, which are never found in natural conditions in Russia or Dubai: eared fretboard, Arab rattles and sand snakes. And, it would seem, quite native to us, but the desert wolf, fox and even a hare.
On the territory of the Dubai Zoo live also peacocks, the wild cat Gordon, Socotran cormorants and many other exotic and familiar to Russian tourists animals.
