The Armenian Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is one of the main shrines of Lviv, a page of its history. Armenians settled in the city in the 14th century, gradually settling in new areas. The building was constantly being completed and reconstructed. Its details combine the Old Russian, Gothic and Armenian styles. In 2001 the cathedral was visited during the visit to Lviv by Pope John Paul II. And still there are often shooting historical films.

For the first time I wanted to get to the Armenian cathedral, or rather see his patio for the reason that the famous scenes from the Soviet film "D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers" were shot here. It was there that a fight took place between the Guards and Musketeers at the very beginning of the film. But it was necessary to observe the courtyard through the fence, because it was not allowed to go inside. But we were in the middle of the temple and it was much more interesting. Armenian Cathedral - successful intertwining of different styles August 30 2013

During a visit to Lviv, my friend and I ran into this cathedral by accident, he was on road from our apartment to the Market Square. Honestly, at first they were afraid of going in, they did not know how to behave inside, after all, they were a different people. In fact, everything turned out ok, on two dense tourists no one fingered, so standard behavior here is also suitable. Emboldened, we even put the candles in.
