On the island of Lantau is the world's largest bronze statue of the Sitting Buddha (height 34 m). To get to the top you need to go through 268 steps. The statue is on the plateau of Ngon-Pinh, in the homonymous village, which can be reached on the breathtaking "cable car" Ngong Ping 360 (it is worth to buy a ticket to the booth with a glass floor).
The Buddha is set on a three-level podium and symbolizes the harmony of the relationship between man and nature, between people and religion. Not far from the statue of the Great Buddha is the Po Lin monastery, the road to it leads through a beautiful stone passage. The main attractions of the monastery are the Hall of the Great Hero and the Hall of the Heavenly King.
