Until the middle of the twentieth century, the origin of grapefruit was still in question, but later it turned out that it was first discovered in the 1750s in Barbados. Now the collection of this citrus fruit on the plantations of Cuba is a very profitable business. The main harvest is on the island of Juventud, and the festival is held there.
