How to get
From Trivandrum to Kovalam, you can take a bus (~ 15 INR) or rickshaw (250 INR) for 30-40 minutes and take a taxi (400-500 INR) in 20 minutes
Also every hour there are buses from Kanyakumari (en route 2, 5 hours), the fare is ~ 40 INR. The same let the taxi cost ~ 1500 INR.

Beaches Kovalam
Kovalam includes three beaches:
- the most southerly and the most popular Lighthouse Beach: there are a lot of hotels, restaurants, lodges and shops
- a northern beach, similar to a crescent moon, which has different names - Main Beach (Main Beach), Lila Beach or Samudra Beach. This beach is very popular with the local population (especially at the weekend)
- and Hawa Beach, which is located between them. This is perhaps the only beach in India where it is possible to sunbathe topless.
Most tourists of Kovalam are people from 40 to 60 years old. It's no wonder that there is a fairly quiet environment, restaurants offer lighter food, and entertainment is not as crazy as in neighboring Goa.
Treatment
There are many Ayurvedic salons in Kovalam where you can try almost everything types of massage: oily (from 400 INR per hour), with sandal paste (from 700 INR), with shirodhara (from 800 INR) and others. But do not rely on the honesty of the masseur - when paying for a massage session with fragrant aromatic oils, it's worth making sure that the massage will be exactly what is ordered and paid for (and not simple, as it is like to make tight ayurvedic for the sake of economy.)
Cuisine and restaurants
Most restaurants are on Lighthouse Beach, in the evening they are not badly preparing fresh fish. The German Bakery (excellent views of the beach, delicious snacks and good breakfasts), Suprabatham (one of the best vegetarian restaurants in the resort), Fruit Ladies (fruit salad to take away ~ 1 USD) and Light House Beach Kovalam (good restaurant with fusion cuisine ").
Entertainment, sightseeing and sightseeing Kovalam
Here you can surf - the height of the waves sometimes reaches up to 2 meters. You can rent a board and equipment on the beach for 6 USD per day.
