Hamat Gader ("hot springs of Gadara") - a popular medical resort in the valley of the river Yarmuk near Tiberias Lake, is at the junction of the borders of Israel, Jordan and Syria. Modern Gadara is located 4, 5 km from the reserve, on the territory of Jordan. This resort was well known during the Roman Empire: in the second century, construction of bathhouses for the Roman legions began here.

Infrastructure and cost of entry
The entrance fee for the reserve is 79 ILS (about 17, 5 USD), includes a visit to the crocodile nursery and hot springs.
Hamat Gader is not just a therapeutic baths, but a whole tropical park that stretches over 40 acres and includes open and closed rooms, antique Roman baths, a hotel, restaurants and a thermo-mineral pool.
