The exposition of the State Jewish Museum presents ritual and household items produced by Lithuanian Jews, books, letters, posters, pieces of cigarette packs with handwritten notes, several copies of diaries from the Ghetto, prints of various organizations, periodicals, archival materials from the former USSR, works of art by pre-war artists, etc.

The main collection dedicated to the Holocaust is kept in the branch of the State Jewish Museum.

Currently, the museum has several permanent exhibitions devoted to the tragic fate of the Jewish people before the Second World War, the Holocaust, history of the forgotten theater in the ghetto. Also, an exposition is opened about the existing and destroyed Lithuanian synagogues

In 1997 . on the occasion of the bicentenary of the death of the famous Vilna gaon Eliya ben Solomon Zalman was given to the museum . The great gaon Zalman was not only a spiritual leader Jewish community in Lithuania and Russia, but throughout eastern and central Europe . Zalman devoted his life to the study of sacred religious texts, introduced a new method of interpreting the Talmud and attempted to return Jewish law to its rational basis, Commentary . After his death, about seventy books were published in which the Vilna Gaon touched a wide range of issues and problems .

The museum is open from Monday to Thursday from 9 : 00 to 17:00, Fridays from 9:00 to 16:00, on Sundays from 10:00 to 16:00, entrance fee is 5 LTL.
