The annual carnival Cavalcade de Diekirch is one of the significant and colorful events of Luxembourg which this year starts on February 10 . Traditionally the most colorful processions and carnival events take place in the first three days, from Sunday to Tuesday . These days the whole country becomes a playground for one big fun and insanely beautiful holiday . Local people themselves sew fancy suits and are stocked with umbrellas, which I use quite differently: apart from the parades and street dances, the carnival is accompanied by salutes from sweets and popcorn, which they just try to catch in the umbrellas . Also, much attention is paid to the children during the holiday: they are coming up with many entertainments, games and contests with prizes .
