The number of travelers who arrived to the island on cruise liners made 2, 5 thousand people during the first month of the summer. The absolute record was set for business trips: the number of businessmen who visited Malta in June increased by 31% and was set at 12 thousand.

The overwhelming majority of tourists still come to the island state from the countries of the European Union. The beginning of the summer season markedly affected the statistical indicators: the flow of European travelers who came here on vacation, jumped by 39%. The palm tree is usually held by Englishmen: their share in the total foreign tourist flow is 30%.

In addition to the growth of the tourist flow in Malta, the number of nights spent by travelers in local hotels has also increased. In June, this indicator rose to 1.2 million nights, which is 12% higher than last year's level.
