Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico Carlos de Icaza said in an interview for RIA Novosti about the impossibility of transition to visa-free regime with Russia in the near future.

De Icaza clarified that at the moment for Russian tourists there is a simplified procedure for obtaining visas, within which the applicant makes an online request through the system of electronic permission to enter the country. In case of a positive decision, he receives a document that allows him to stay in Mexico for up to 180 days. The system works flawlessly, and there are no objective prerequisites for its modification in the diplomatic service.

The Deputy Minister also noted that the flow of Russian travelers to Mexico continues to grow steadily. Last year, 77 thousand Russians visited the country, which is 50 thousand more than three years ago
