Yesterday we wrote about the beginning of the implementation in the Maldives of an ambitious project for the construction of an underwater hotel with a two-level structure. And already today, the Mexican resort Cancun announced the construction of an even more insane hotel, which will also include numbers on the seabed.
American architect Richard Morita Castillo developed the project of the luxury hotel "Grand Cancun", literally a skyscraper in the middle of the sea. Its foundation will be laid on the bottom of the Yucatan Strait, a hundred meters from the shore. The number of rooms and the proposed service is not yet reported, but it is already known now that the hotel will provide itself with electricity through numerous solar panels.
The opening is scheduled for 2020, when Cancun will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary. Recall that before 1970 Cancun was an ordinary fishing village, and now is one of the five best resorts on the planet.
