How to get to Tivat
Tivat Airport is 4 km from the city - it is one of the two international airports in Montenegro (the second one in Podgorica). From here all year round, daily flights to Belgrade are made, while the rest of the flights are concentrated mainly in the summer. In addition, Tivat is connected with the rest of Montenegro by a two-lane Adriatic route - Jadranska magistrala. Nearby is the Kamenari-Lepetane ferry crossing across the Verige Strait, which allows you not to tour Kotor Bay on the way to Croatia.

Beaches of Tivat
On the coast around Tivat there are 17 municipal and hotel beaches, as well as many small picturesque coves with restaurants, hotels and bars. In addition, Riviera Tivat includes three islands - Flowers, St. Mark and the Merciful Virgin.
- The beach of Opatovo is located 3 km from the center of Tivat, near the ferry, and stretches for 220 m. Almost equally divided into two parts, the beach divides the picturesque lighthouse. Rest here is more than comfortable: there is a shower, toilet, paid beds and umbrellas, a cafe and a parking place.
- In 1, 5 km from the town there is another nice sandy beach - Donja Lastva 1000 m long.
- Between Tivat and Verige Strait is a 1 km, 7 km long beach at Cape Seljanovo. Beach sand, with picturesque interspersed with smooth rocks. There are also restaurants, bars, parking and a small pier.
- In the center of Tivat, near large hotels and along the promenade, stretch the beaches of Belane (Belane, 150 m long) and Zupa (500 m long). They are equipped with everything necessary for a pleasant stay, including restaurants and cafes, showers, parking spaces, as a bonus in the background are cypress and pine groves.
- Not far from Radoviches is Oblatno beach 150 meters long. Wild forest attracts special attention to this place, but everything is quite civilized at the beach: cafes, showers, toilet, umbrellas and sun loungers.
- There are in the vicinity of Tivat and a pebble beach - Krasici, 1, 5 km long. On the beach sheltered four bars: "Zanzibar", "Paradise", "Prince" and "Poseidon."
- The beach of the island of Flowers, is 2 km from Tivat and stretches for 1200 m, skirting the whole island.
- Not far from the Island of Flowers is the long, sunny beach of Kalardovo. It is a typical city beach with all amenities, sports grounds, picnic areas, parking, restaurants and cafes.
- And yet the most beautiful beach on the Tivat Riviera is the valley of Przno, where Plavi Horizonte beach is located with the same name hotel (it's Blue Horizon). Here, soft healing sand, thick olive groves and pine forests. In addition, in these places it is good to have a rest with children, since the seabed on the beach is not deep. The length of the beach is only 300 meters.
Entertainment, excursions and attractions Tivat
In the 14th and 15th centuries Tivat was an important religious center, since the residence of the Orthodox Metropolitan Zeta was located in the local monastery of Michael the Archangel on the nearby island of Tsvetov (the island of Miholska Prevlaka) from the 13th century.
But still the main attraction of the city is the medieval palace "Bucha", which is more than 500 years old. It was founded by Mihailo Bucha and his brother Nikola, the proto-bearer at the court of King Dushan. The palace consists of five buildings: a dwelling house, outbuildings, a chapel church of St. Michael, a defender of the master's family of Buch and the porch. Today there is an art gallery of Tivat.
In addition, while relaxing in Tivat, it is worth to visit the island of St. Mark (Ostrvo Sveti Marko), the Church of St. Savvatia and a botanical garden with exotic plants that local sailors brought from overseas travel. Nearby is the house of Verona, the Pima complex in Kaliman, the house of Vizin and Drago in Selyanovo, the Yakon'ia bungalow.

Events of Tivat
During February, the resort hosts masquerades and carnivals - traditional festivals of the maritime region. And in the second half of the month begins a fantastic "Bokela night." In May, two events take place: Zhuchenitsa ("dandelion") Fest and Youth Day (May 25).
From late July to early August, the resort begins the festival of the Mediterranean Theater Purgatorije, which organizes the center for the culture of Tivat. At this time in the city you can visit all kinds of exhibitions, theater performances, film projections and concerts. But on the first Saturday of August in Gornja Lastva it is possible to visit Pastovsky fest. In the program: dinner at the mill, exhibitions, concerts. In addition, in the summer they organize a spectacular sports olympiad on boccia.
