The Butorowy Wierch ski complex is part of Zakopane, the most popular ski resort located in the Tatras in the south of Poland, near the border with Slovakia.
Until 1870, Zakopane was considered a small mountain village, which was visited by famous composers, artists and writers in search of inspiration. Among them was the composer Karol Shimanovsky, and the writer Stanislav Vitkevich.

How to get to Butorovy Top
You can get to Zakopane by train from Krakow (journey time 3 h 30 min) and Warsaw (6 h 30 min). However, the fastest way to Zakopane is by bus from the same Krakow (2 hours) - buses run every 30-40 minutes. Also buses run from Nowy Sacz (3 hours), Przemysl (4 hours 30 minutes), Rzeszów (4 hours 30 minutes), Lodz (6 hours), Katowice (3 hours) and Nowy Targ (30 minutes). @

Transport
The buses of the company PKS run along Zakopane. Also in the city there are many private minibuses, most of which have established routes (for example, in Gubalowka, Polyana Palenica and Poprad) and fixed prices. The minibus stop is located across the road from the bus station.
The Butorovy Top ski center is 2 km west of the center of Zakopane, a little further from the Glade of the Shimashkovo near the Orbis Kasprovy hotel.
Climate
The climate is characterized as mountainous. The coldest month is January with a temperature of 4-5 degrees below zero, the warmest month is July with a temperature of 14-15 degrees.
Shops and restaurants
On the northern outskirts of Krupówki Street, right in front of the lower funicular station, there is a large market where you can buy wool and knitwear, kitchen utensils, handicrafts, clothes and food. At the foot of the mountain there is a restaurant, a bar, ski equipment rental and a service center.
Trails Butorovy Top
Lifts and trails are located on the southern and south-eastern slopes of Butorovy Top. On the south-eastern slope there are chairlift and ski lifts, and on the southern slope there are two rope tows.
The total length of the tracks is over 2.8 km, the height difference is 280 m. The working time of the complex is from 9:00 to 15:00 or from 9:00 to 17:00 (depending on the season).
Entertainment, excursions and attractions Butorovy Top
12 km to the south-east of Zakopane extends the emerald-green surface of Lake Morskoye Oko, which is considered a popular destination for day trips .Buses and minibuses regularly run to the lake, which depart from Kościuszki Street and follow up to Polyana Palenica (journey time 30 min .), from where there is a 9 km long road to the lake .The entry of motor vehicles onto the road is prohibited, so the further route will be on foot (the journey time is about 2 hours one way) .Alternatively, you can hire a horse-drawn crew .The last bus in Zakopane leaves between 17:00 and 18:00 .
In Zakopane there is an aqua park located on Jagiellońska street 31 with open and closed swimming pools, water slides, saunas and bowling.
