Is the sea clean in Gelendzhik?

Answer information department of "Tourism Subtlety"
Gelendzhik is located on the shore of the bay connected to the Black Sea by the strait formed by two capes . The water in the bay is warmer and therefore more susceptible to algae growth than in the open sea . The greatest growth of algae falls in August, therefore it is better for those who prefer cleaner water to go to the beaches of neighboring resort villages or to the famous Gelendzhik ridge . The cleanliness of the sea also depends on the number of holidaymakers . In July-August because of large influx of people the bay does not have time to self-clean and looks dirty, in addition, the water is troubled by a sandy bottom .

In the Gelendzhik bay itself - pebbly beaches with a sandy bottom and a moderate slope in depth. In the central part of the bay there is a wide artificial sandy city beach stretching along the embankment for 1, 5 km

In Kabardinka and the Blue Bay sandy and small pebble beaches, the seabed is flat and sandy - here the best conditions for recreation with children. Between Gelendzhik and Kabardinka, narrow, pebbly beaches predominate.

From the shore of Gelendzhik to Dzhanhot, the shore is rocky and steep: a strip suitable for swimming is narrow or absent altogether. However, on the Divnomorskoe-Dzhanhot sites it is always possible to find a comfortable descent to the sea and find yourself on a stony or pebble patch.
