Khrenovskaya stud farm and the most enduring horses of Orlova
The background of the appearance on the territory of the Voronezh province of a stud farm that will become known to the whole world began with ... of States coup. After the assassination of Peter III, the active participant in the conspiracy against the emperor Alexei Orlov was to take the future empress to St. Petersburg from Peterhof. Having driven the best horses out of the royal stables within 10 kilometers, Orlov promised to get the most hardy breed of horses in the world.
After the victory over the Turkish fleet at Chesma Bay, Orlov got the right to carry the Orlov-Chesmens double name and a lot of land in the Bobrovsky district of the Voronezh province. Here the earl in 1776 founded his first factory - Khrenovskoy, and then Chesmensky.
The horse's dream was enduring, ripping, trotting and beautiful. To implement his plan, Alexei Orlov bought an Arab foal in the Ottoman Empire for huge money at that time - 62,000 silver. Born in 1784 grandson Smetanki, Bars I became the ancestor of the Oryol trotters. In 1830 this breed was officially recognized.

Architectural monument and resort
The ensemble of buildings of the Khrenovo stud farm is a wonderful example of architecture of the early 19th century. At the end of the 19th century the village of Khrenovoe turned into a real resort: under the decree of Nicholas II, the "Khrenovskaya koumiss-sanatorium sanatorium" was founded here. Nowadays the Khrenovskoy stud farm accepts tourists who want to get acquainted with the history and architecture of one of their oldest stud farms in Russia and see the famous trotters.
