How to get here
Tashtagol is the terminal station of the South Kuzbass branch of ZSZhD. Connection with major cities is carried out by means of the Tashtagol-Kemerovo train and the Tashtagol-Novokuznetsk electric train (they go daily). On the territory of the city there are three stations: Kondoma, ok. 572 km (in the Ust-Shalym microdistrict), and Tashtagol itself (in the old town).
In 2008, the Tashtagol-Turochak road was opened, connecting the Kemerovo Region and the Altai Republic. Bus connection with Novokuznetsk, Mezhdurechensk, Kemerovo, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Biysk, Gorno-Altai and with the settlements of Tashtagol district.

The main routes are located along the eastern slope of the mountain Karitshal (translated from the Shorsky - "the end of the mane, mountain range"), which also has the Russian name - Green. The second name got the mountain for its color. Green trails are considered one of the best not only in Siberia, but also in Russia in general and can be recommended to alpine skiers of almost any level. Currently on the mountain there are two routes with a length of about 2000 and 2500 m at a height difference of 580 m .The width of the trails ranges from 80 to 200 m, which allows you to diversify the options of descents .Both tracks have a long gentle slope, which is quite safe for children and beginners riding .The 2000 m long track is quite complicated and has practically no local flat sections, so it can be recommended only to skiers who are confident of skating, fans of steep slopes and high speeds .2, a 5-kilometer downhill skiing track with a small number of skiers turns into the most "otvyaznoe" place for fans of thrill .By the end of winter, an improvised halfpipe section is created at the bottom of the route .In complexity, these routes can be characterized as a complicated blue and red trails .
Freeride
In the vicinity of Mount Mustag there are unique opportunities for off-piste skiing: lack of avalanche, goltsovye areas and woodlands, a wide range of steep slopes, small hillocks and springboards. You can skate both along the green slopes of the Green, as well as directly on the Mustag, through the snow-covered Kurum. A separate kind of entertainment - jumping from the snow cornices on Mount Kurgan. Due to the huge amount of snow, most flights are relatively safe and stunningly beautiful (from 2 to 12 m of free flight).
