The natural monument on the Black Sea coast near Gelendzhik really looks like a sail. There are such rocks, over which, apparently, from a great deal of boredom, natural forces have worked. That ring, then the bell, and here is the sail.
This rock is a large vertical sandstone stratum, which is separated from the main rock massif. It is a small thickness, a little over a meter, and in height it goes by 25 meters. Its most part is in the sea. From a scientific point of view, the rock appeared as a result of the seizure of land by water and erosion that absorbed rocks.
There is a hole in Sail, whose origin is a mystery. It is said that it appeared after the shelling during the Caucasian War. But this version is rejected by historians who cite as an example the memories of soldiers in the early 20th century. They argue that it was impossible to break the rock even with shells from the battleship
