Like every popular European festival, Benicassim began with the same thought in two music lovers. These heads belong to Spanish journalists and the owners of the club concurrently, who in 1994 decided and in a year gathered in one place the musical underground of their country. The collection point was declared the resort town of Benicassim - hence the name.

The tent city of the Benicassim festival opens 4 days before and works 2 days after. And this is a great opportunity to combine a festival party with a beach holiday. Concerts on Benicassim begin, as a rule, in the evening, then - a disco till the morning, and when dawn, guests relax on the beaches and in the sea. And all for that for relatively little money. Therefore, the Spanish fest is very fond of the youth of the whole world.

All four days (usually in the middle of July) at the festival Benicassim simultaneously work three scenes. And, as a rule, the audience manages to hear and see all the performances. And show themselves on the Spanish muzmarafone come at least 100 groups that gravitate toward rock, pop music or electronics. In the headliners here go such stars as David Getta, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, Benny Benassi.
