The most populated city is Istanbul (about 15 million people), then the capital of Turkey is Ankara (6 million people) and Izmir (3, 5 million people) Hanyari is the most sparsely populated city of Turkey.
In addition to the Turks, many other nationalities live here. Kurds (10% of the population), Greeks, Arabs, Armenians, Georgians, Azerbaijanis, Albanians, as well as residents of the Balkans (Serbs, Bulgarians), Spanish Jews. The male population prevails over the female population.
In the past 50 years, strong urbanization has been characterized. In the middle of the 20th century, only 1/4 of the population lived in cities. The influx into the city increased after the mechanization of agriculture
