Dubai is the name of the capital of the mini-state (emirate), which has the same name and is part of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The whole country is in South-West Asia, on the Arabian Peninsula. The city of Dubai, the largest in the UAE, is located on the shore of the Persian Gulf, which separates the peninsula from Iran. The emirate itself is adjacent to the other two, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. 72 km of the Gulf coast belongs to its territory, and the Kriik Strait is crushed deep into the land.
