Lake Placid is a small hamlet in the Adirondack Mountains in the northeastern United States, which was lucky enough to become the venue for the Olympic Games in 1932 and 1980.

How to get there

The nearest international airports are in Albany, Burlington and Canadian Montreal. There is a small runway in Lake Placid itself, but only charter and sightseeing planes are served there

The road by car from New York to Lake Placid will take about 5 hours on Route 87 and then on to 9N. The road along the route from Montreal will take about 2.5 hours.

Also the bus from the company Adirondack Trailways Service runs between New York, Albany and Lake Placid (check the route, schedule and cost by calling 1-800-225-6815).

In the village move on foot, and a free tram runs to the lake.
