Entertainment, excursions and attractions Holmenkollen

Despite the fact that Holmenkollen is primarily a ski resort there are several tourist places that are worth a visit. Among the most popular is the world's oldest Ski Museum, opened in 1923. Here the tourists can see ancient and longest skis, as well as numerous stories and legends about expeditions to the North Pole. Nature lovers aspire to the waterfall Vorringfossen, whose height is 183 meters.

Holmenkollen is visited not only by tourists

But the most interesting sight of the resort is the huge stone troll Collin - the hero of children's Norwegian fairy tales. A huge stone monster came out somehow from his forest and he liked this place so much that he decided to stay and protect him from evil spirits. A personal site is even devoted to a local pet on the Internet. Small statuettes with his image can be bought at Holmenkollen souvenir shops.
